Professional Boundary Disclaimer
The purpose of this disclaimer is to make clear what PFAS Risk Intelligence does — and does not — do.
What we provide
PFAS Risk Intelligence provides desk-based PFAS and brownfield risk intelligence, source-pathway-receptor thinking, and strategy coordination for developers, landowners, planning consultants, contractors, councils, legal advisers, lenders and insurers in the United Kingdom.
This includes the free PFAS Risk Triage Tool, the free PFAS Risk Checklist PDF, PFAS Risk Watch bulletins and, on request, the paid PFAS Brownfield Risk Screen.
What we do not provide
We are not a laboratory, a law firm, a regulator, a planning authority, a remediation contractor or an expert witness firm. Specifically:
- We do not confirm the presence or absence of PFAS or any other contaminant. That requires accredited laboratory testing.
- We do not determine legal liability. We provide responsible-party tracing and evidence-led intelligence that may support your legal, enforcement, recovery or commercial assessment by appropriate advisers.
- We do not guarantee planning approval, insurance acceptance, enforcement, recovery, remediation or regulatory outcomes.
- We do not carry out intrusive investigation, sampling, laboratory testing, remediation design or expert witness evidence unless separately agreed through specialist support.
Preliminary tools only
The Triage Tool result, the Checklist, and any commentary on the site are preliminary information tools only. They do not replace accredited laboratory testing, formal contaminated land assessment, legal advice, regulatory approval, expert evidence or remediation design.
Where risk is identified or cannot be ruled out, appropriate specialist investigation, laboratory testing, legal advice and professional contaminated land assessment should be obtained before making acquisition, planning, construction, remediation, enforcement, insurance, recovery or litigation decisions.
PFAS regulation is evolving
PFAS regulation is developing rapidly. Our work is not limited to current thresholds — we help clients understand possible sources, pathways, potentially responsible parties, planning risk, insurance concern and commercial exposure so they can make better decisions while the regulatory position matures.
